All The Colors of the Dark: A Gripping Small Town Drama with Unforgettable Characters

by Chris Whitaker

In 1975, thirteen year-old Patch and Saint are best friends in their small town of Monta Clare, Missouri. Patch lives with his single mother who isn’t really able to care for him. Saint is being raised by her grandmother because her parents have died. Patch was born with only one eye so he imagines that he is a pirate., complete with the outfit. The town is on edge because young girls have gone missing and the serial killer hasn’t been apprehended. When Patch saves a wealthy young classmate from being abducted, his heroic action has repercussions that not only affect him but the whole town for years.

It is difficult to review this book without giving away spoilers but this beautifully written story that starts in 1975 and ends in 2001 is a character driven, heart wrenching, story of love, loss, friendship but ultimately hope.

All The Colors of the Dark will stay with you long after you have finished reading it.
