by Ruth Goodman

This is a fun, informative book about Victorian life. The author, Ruth Goodman, is a British historian and an expert on this time period.. She was involved with a program on PBS where she lived for one year on a re-created Victorian farm. She wore a corset and lived as many working class Victorians did.
This book leads us through a day in the life of these people. You find out how the lower class started their day compared to the upper class. You will learn about their daily grooming habits, fashions of the time, meals, leisure time and their sex lives. It is a fascinating book and fans of period dramas will love it. She has a new book out now named How To Be A Tudor and I am sure that it will be a fascinating read, too.
